Hover MIDI Live Performance at Phobos Festival

Ambient, Dub Techno and Dark Ambient producer and live performer Martin Stürtzer (Phelios) has been beta-testing the Hover MIDI and performed live with it at the Phobos festival on October 25th 2024. You can see how he used it to precisely control slowly evolving sounds in the tracks Stasis Device and Opalescent Void. He remarked this about Hover MIDI: “The Hover is really good; it has a display and a button, so that you can actually play it. Other ‘D-Beam’ controllers I tried were hard to control.

Hover Beam Controllers

The Hover range of synthesizer beam controllers are now in pre-production testing. They output signals from hand movements measured by a beam of infrared light and are available in CV/gate and MIDI versions. Hover features a modifier button that can be used to freeze the output in various ways, including allowing Hover to be used like a standard fader or knob but with the benefit of the ease and expression of hand movements used as a controller. They will both be available as standalone desktop units, and additionally, the CV/gate version will also available as a Eurorack module. See the Hover, Hover Euro and Hover MIDI pages for more details.
