The 8 jack sockets are connected to the 8 patch chain paths at the module’s rear. There are two connectors, one for the jack signals and one for the jack ‘normal’ signals. Patch chain inputs and outputs are connected using the signal connector. The normal connector allows a set of signals to be passed through into the chain when the corresponding jack is removed (see the block diagram below). Patch chain cables are used with these connectors to connect to the Exchange patch chain.
Expander can also be used to provide alternative inputs for the Preset and Reset input ports of Exchange, freeing up Exchange inputs 7 and 8 for use as regular patching inputs.
Exchange Expander ships with one 20cm patch chain cable. Additional cables can be purchased separately here.
